Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG) is a glycoprotein hormone that is primarily produced by the placenta during pregnancy. It is composed of an alpha and beta subunit, where the alpha subunit shares homology to other glycoprotein hormones such as follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). The beta subunit, on the other hand, is unique to hCG and is responsible for its biological activity, that includes promoting development and maintenance of the corpus luteum, which produces progesterone to support pregnancy. Additionally, hCG is commonly used as a marker for pregnancy and is also used in the treatment of certain medical conditions such as infertility and testicular cancer. The high specificity of our human anti-chorionic gonadotrophin antibody to the beta subunit of native form hCG ensures accurate and reliable results. It is suitable for ELISA application and designed to provide researchers with a powerful tool for studying the biology and function of hCG in fertility health and disease.

PtX™ | Plant-Based Expression
The biotechnology behind the development and manufacture of this product, transient plant-based expression, effectively turns Nicotiana benthamiana plants into single-use, biodegradable bioreactors. Infiltrating this plant species with Agrobacterium tumefaciens cells, transformed with our proprietary plant expression vectors, allows rapid production of a wide variety of recombinant proteins. Plants are harvested and proteins extracted by various stages of filtration, clarification, purification, and polishing – resulting in a highly functional final product.
