The antibody strongly crossreacts with PKC in human, mouse and rat cells.1 AntiPKC (clone MC5) binds to an epitope at the hinge region of the enzyme, the site of phorbolesterinduced proteolysis which is thought to downregulate PKC activity in intact cells.1,2 Monoclonal MC5 reacts with PKCα/ß1/ß2 isoforms. Background AntiProtein Kinase C (PKC) has been covalently conjugated to 4% crosslinked agarose using conjugation chemistries to reduce nonspecific binding and optimize binding of Protein Kinase C.
