CD90/Thy-1, a GPI-anchored molecule and one of the smallest members of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors, consists of a single V-set domain.1-4 It is expressed on thymocytes, peripheral T lymphocytes, some intraepithelial T lymphocytes and neurons of all mouse strains.1,2 This antibody stimulates T-cell proliferation and IL-2 secretion, via signalling through the T-cell receptor/CD3 complex.1,5-7 The antibody has also been reported to promote apoptosis of thymocytes and CTL clones,4,7 and to mediate adhesion of thymocytes to thymic stroma.8||Applications:|• Flow cytometry 1,10|• Immunocytochemistry (acetone-fixed, frozen sections) 10|• In vitro T cell activation 1,5,6,9|• Induction of apoptosis 4,7||Recommended Dilution:|Flow Cytometry: ≤ 0.2ug/10e6 cells|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Storage and Stability:|May be stored at 4°C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
