-20°CHost cell proteins (HCPs) are proteins unique to the host cell used in biologics production and are considered to be a potentially hazardous contaminant when included in the final recombinant product. There is a range from 4,300 genes in E. coli to 30,000 genes in CHO or NS0 cell lines that may be expressed along with the desired recombinant product, and at least a small sub-population of these proteins will normally co-purify with the protein of interest. Characterization of these HCPs is important because there are potential safety risks when they are included in a therapeutic product, and the foreign nature of the proteins can elicit an immune response in humans. Antibodies raised against host cell proteins can be used to detect HCPs using Western blot analysis.||Applications: |Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilution:|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Storage and Stability:|Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.||Note: Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
