-20°CThe sm (Smith) is an autoantigen on a series of particles composed of RNA and protein. Unlike RNP, the sm antigen is resistant to RNase, but partially sensitive to trypsin. It is involved in the pathogenesis of Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Antibodies to sm are found in 20-30% of patients with SLE. ||Applications: |Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunodiffusion. Other applications not tested.||Recommended Dilutions: |ELISA: 1:100|Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.||Titer:|Immunodiffusion: 1:2||Sm: Autoantibody Activity (by ELISA):|171.60EU/ml (lot-specific; value may differ from lot to lot).||Other Autoantibody Activity in the Serum (by ELISA):|SSA: 58.93EU/ml|SSB: 1.33EU/ml |SCL: 2.09EU/ml|Sm/RNP: 209.86EU/ml|Jo-1: 4.81EU/ml||Interpretation of Results:|Negative: <16EU/ml, Equivocal: 16-20EU/ml, Positive: >20EU/ml||Storage and Stability:|Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
