Cross adsorbed Anti-Rat secondary antibodies

Cross adsorbed Anti-Rat secondary antibodies

Cross-adsorbed anti-rat antibodies are secondary antibodies that have been purified to remove antibodies that recognize shared epitopes on other proteins, in order to minimize cross-reactivity. Cross-adsorption or pre-adsorption is a purification step that increases the specificity of the antibody, resulting in higher sensitivity and less background staining. The cross-adsorption process involves binding the antibodies to target proteins that have been immobilized on solid-phase gels, and then further purifying the antibodies on similar gels to remove those that recognize shared epitopes on other proteins.

There are different types of cross-adsorbed anti-rat antibodies available, including goat anti-rat IgG (H+L) highly cross-adsorbed, goat anti-rat IgG (H+L) cross-adsorbed, and donkey anti-rat IgG (H+L) highly cross-adsorbed. These antibodies are suitable for various applications, such as western blotting, immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, and ELISA. The choice of antibody depends on the specific application and the level of cross-reactivity that needs to be minimized. Using antibodies that are extensively cross-adsorbed may result in diminished signal due to a reduced number of paratopes against the intended target.
